Hi Everyone!

I’m a little late showing you my Spellbinders November Clubs this month – but do not fear if you’ve not managed to snag these yet, they are still available until November 27th 2022. Today I’m featuring the Small Die ‘Layered Floral Card Creator’ and the Embossing Folder ‘Fan Motif’. I decided to create a matching pair of notecards, with a slightly different technique for both. I also left them sentiment-less so I could pull them out for any occasion, or just write a little note to a friend (or my daughter in her schoolbag!)

I first created my backgrounds – I dry embossed two panels of Snow Drift cardstock with the Fan Motif embossing folder. One of the panels I kept white, the other panel, I ink blended deep blue, and purple inks, fading out towards the bottom, before dry embossing. I also added a spritz of iridescent shimmer spray. On the white panel, I ink blended a hot pink ink around the edges, keeping it heavy on the edges and fading into the centre slightly.

On my pink card, I die cut the main part of the Small Die out of the dry embossed centre – this way I had a window in the centre, and a dry embossed ‘stem’ for my main flower. If you find that running through your Platinum 6 pushes down the embossing on the outer panel, you can always re-run it through by lining up the fans.

I die cut several of the flower dies, and one more stem (for my 2nd card) all from Snow Drift card stock. For my pink card, I adhered the ink blended panle onto a white notecard, then adhered the dry embossed stem into the opening in the centre using thin strips of foam tape for dimension. I adhered the other stem into the centre of the blue panel.

I added color on several of the leaves, flower petals and berries – using purple for the blue card, and the same pink for the pink edged card. I then layered up the pieces onto each stem with Bearly Art Glue.

I also added some sparkle by adhering crystals here and there that co-ordinated with the colors of the cards. For a final touch, I added Nuvo Crystal Drops over the berries to make them shine.

You could of course add a sentiment strip into the centre but I just love how these look left on their own!
