Hi there crafters! Are you ready for a new Craft Your Life Project Kit?? (Aren’t you just loving these – I don’t know how but Altenew just keeps on coming up with amazing designs time and again!). Today’s reveal is Fragrant Florals! Our blog hop today has a ton of inspiration – hopefully you were sent along by Cheryl Espie but if not, you can head on over to the Altenew Card Blog to start at the beginning.

Send hugs and snuggles to your loved ones with this beautiful arrangement of anemones. The large stamp size makes it quite versatile, as you will be able to stamp it off of your card base at different angles and proportions to get different looks. It is a lovely image to color or use stamped as is. We have also incorporated some heartfelt sentiments in bold fonts to contrast the delicate nature of the flowers. Enjoy our Craft Your Life Project Kit, an exciting monthly package that is sure to get the creative juices flowing! Featuring a 6×8 stamp set, coordinating die set, as well as a stencil set and an embossing folder to fit the theme, this project kit has almost everything you need to start crafting. Just add ink and cardstock, and you’ll be good to go!

I always love the gigantic floral arrangements that Altenew releases (remember Simply Spring – lovvved) and this one is perfection – large open spaces and a gorgeous matching coloring stencil set and embossing folder. I didn’t want to lose a single part of the of the bouquet so I used entire thing on the card, letting it hang off the edges of my A2 panel.

I started by stenciling my flowers (without stamping any outline first) using the stencil in the kit. I used the Martian Terrain set of inks for the petals, and added some warmth and depth using the Summer Afternoon set of inks for the leaves. On all layers of the stencil, I first blended lightly fading out towards the outer edge/ tip of a petal or leave, and then came in with a deeper ink color to add depth. When all my ink blending was done, I placed my card panel in the MISTI and aligned the Fragrant Florals stamp outline over the top, lining up all the leaf veins and centres, and stamped in Warm Sunshine a couple of times. I love how this lightens over the top of the ink blending!

I also stamped the sentiment directly over the top using Obsidian Pigment ink. When it was dry, I added white gel pen highlights in the flower centres and also onto the ‘fabulous’ word.

For the background panel, I used a warm coral A2 panel of cardstock, dry embossed with the Fragrant Florals 3D Embossing Folder. I then die cut the flower panel and using foam tape, arranged it over the top of the dry embossed panel so a little peeped out. I added a few Antique Gold Sequins for a subtle shine to finish.

  3. Wow! Your colors are so mellow but really adds to your card. I will have to try to color first then stamp the outline. Nice job.

  5. Lovely card. I like the way you stamped over the stenciling so the details are there but they don’t jump out at you the way the would if you’d stamped in black. Thanks for the inspiration!
