It’s Fall tomorrow – I’m feeling a little chill outside in the air – what better time to snuggle. up in my big cardigan and make cards – with the new release from Gina K Designs! It just went LIVE on sale and I have two card projects to share today using two of the new stamp sets.

My first card features this gorgeous Innocent Orchid stamp set designed by the amazing Hannah Schroepfer Drapinski. I gave it the multi-media treatment, stamping it in black ink onto cold press watercolor cardstock. I then watercolored it with Daniel Smith watercolors , and added lots of splatters for good measure.

When dry, I went back in and added some contrast with Copics. I don’t *think* this damages the nibs (it hasn’t happened to me) but if you do. this, just be careful not to scrub. It adds depth of color without taking away from the textures left by the watercolor. You can see in the above close up. I also went in and added some white gel pen in the centre to mimic true orchid colors.

I went round the outline of the image with three shades of grey Copic – N3, N1, and N0, completely. covering the whole background in N0. I added my sentiment over the top in black ink and added a few co-ordinating Nuvo drops in a gorgeous purple color.

My next card features the ‘Hey Boo’ sentiment set – another big one featuring the wonderful swirly script from Emily Loggans. These are just so big and perfect for a full card front. I used the ‘Sweater Weather’ sentiment (perfect for a crisp Fall weekend!) and decided to create a galaxy background to set it against.

I used my Daniel Smith watercolors again, dropping in yellows and pinks and blues first, onto a panel of rough watercolor cardstock coated in water, letting the colors wick out. I then added in some darker colors in Kyanite, Sugulite and Indigo to add depth and darkness. I dried the panel and then repeated a couple more times. I also edged the panel with Distress Ink in black soot and added some white acrylic paint splatters with different sizes of paint brush for different size ‘stars’.

I stamped the sentiment in embossing ink, once the panel was completely dry, using my powder tool first, and heat embossed in Bright White embossing powder. I used my MISTI to stamp, and repeated this twice more to get a big bold sentiment. I also added the ‘Hello. Fall’ as a sub sentiment in the same way (only embossing once) before mounting on a notecard.

I’ll be back tomorrow with another card I created with this sentiment for a very different look!

Enjoy!
