It’s time for a new Paint-A-Flower reveal from Altenew! Today’s post is part of a blog hop and so hopefully you were sent my way from Altenew Card Blog! Today’s floral is the Gerbera Revolution! It has two giant florals and also some fabulous sentiments and fonts to pair!
I’ve decided to watercolor my floral today – using the Altenew 36 Pan Set. I started by heat embossing it twice onto watercolor paper using Golden Peach embossing Powder. I then loosely watercolored it, adding lots of water out towards the edges of the petals and leaves, to keep it soft. I kept the images towards the bottom of the panel for lots of white space.
I also added shading very lightly around the outer edges of the heat embossing and faded it out. When it was completely dry, I stamped the Big Hugs sentiment in Obsidian pigment ink and added in the ‘love &’ at the top – it fits in perfectly!
I added some stitching detail around the outer edge by die cutting my finished panel with the largest of the String Art Rectangles and then adding a running stitch around the edge using the pale gold metallic thread. I also added a few clear confetti sequins for a subtle embellishment!
