Good morning everyone!! I’m excited to be joining you today as part of the February 2023 Altenew Marvelous Monthly release blog hop! I know it’s been a little quieter on my blog of late – I am mid way through renovating the majority of my house and I have no craft room right now – all of my time is spent between my basement and a small sitting room for work and it’s a squeeze! Rest assured I’ll be back to full videos and crafting when the reno is done – hopefully in by April! The full hop list can be found at the end of this post.

So onto today’s projects! I have a few to share and I hope you like them !!

Build-A-Garden: Morning Asters

The brand new Build-A-Garden features this fun Morning Asters image. I colored it in with Space Garden Artists Markers, having stamped in Permanent Black ink. I then die cut it out with the co-ordinating die. I heat embossed the sentiment in Pure White onto Jet Black cardstock.

The background was ink blended with Amethyst Crisp Dye ink lightly from the bottom. I then die cut it with the Dotted Swirls Debossing Cover Die and spritzed with Iridescent Ink Spray. I then popped the Morning Asters on the top, mounted the sentiment and finished with some enamel dots. You’ll see i also added a little bit of shine in the centres with some glossy accents.

Craft Your Life: Eclectic Bouquet

The stencils on the new Craft Your Life Project Kit: Eclectic Bouquet are so cool – they give the flowers a really modern vibe so I totally went all in with bold solid stenciling on my bouquet and crisp black lines for contrast. I stamped the bouquet in Jet Black ink.

I overlaid the kit’s stencil and blended on pale greens and corally pinks including Coral Bliss and Coral Berry, adding a light touch and a heavier touch to get different shades. I added Sweet Leaf, Minty Mint and Firefly Crisp Dye Inks then die cut out the image. I then ran it back through my machine with the coordinating Embossing Folder for lots of dimension (although it’s hard to see in the photo).

I adhered the bouquet to a white card base splattered with Jet Black ink mixed with water, using foam tape and scattered a few black enamel dots. I also stamped the coordinating sentiment in Obsidian Black Ink onto cardstock custom colored with Coral Bliss ink. I die cut it out and popped over the top to finish.

Spark Joy: Lily Bouquet

It’s time for the 2nd ever Spark Joy – this one is Lily Bouquet. These are the latest line added to the monthly series and are hot foil plates with coordinating stencils. I loved this months, and hot foiled it in Rose Gold, then added all the pretty purples and aqua inks that I love to create bouquets with. I think I used Lagoon and Fuchsia inks, and added heavier pressure towards the edges of the florals for a little dimension. I then fussy cut it out.

I dry embossed a panel of Navy cardstock with the Charming Mandala embossing folder and the mounted the Lily over the top with foam tape. For my sentiment I used the newish XOXO and More dies cut from vellum and gold mirror cardstock.

MYSTIC GARDEN ARTIST MARKERS

There’s also a brand new set of Artist Markers being released today – Mystic Garden! This has some gorgeous blues and reddy-orange hues and I’m showing them to full effect in my card today which features the Beautiful Peony stamp set (an older release). I even die cut several of the smaller leaves to scatter them around 🙂

The background is dry embossed with the Scalloped Frame Embossing Folder on white cardstock. I mounted it over a base white notecard leaving a border then arranged the flowers with a heat embossed sentiment (from Sentiment Strips), finishing with a few crystals.
