It’s the first of the month – today’s the day that Spellbinders reveals its brand new club kits – and I’m kicking us off with a card featuring the new June 2022 Glimmer Club Kit. This features the Glimmer Burst Hot Foil plate, which includes hot foil sentiment plates and coordinating dies.
I wanted to create a colored cardstock base, with contrasting colors – but also keep it clean and simple. I decided to hot foil the sentiment directly onto the card panel base in a way I’ve seen Yana Smakula do before and loved. I hot foiled the ‘Seize the day’ sentiment (in one of my favorite Spellbinders fonts) in Matte Silver Glimmer Hot Foil onto an A2 card panel of Raindrop cardstock.
I then glimmered the main Glimmer Burst plate on both Dahlia and Wild Berry cardstocks in Matte Silver. I used the coordinating dies to die cut out the pieces individually, both with the outline and without.
Using the die cut negative as a template to line up the pieces, I added a double row in the base layer across the top of my Raindrop panel, adhering the shapes using foam squares, alternating colors. I then added the second ‘inner’ piece on top, using the opposite color. I trimmed off any excess overhanging the edge.
To embellish, I kept it simple, using Fashion Silver Embellishment dots here and there and also in the centres of some of the die cut pieces of the burst. I then mounted the panel to a 110lb white note card.
Love the clean and simple vibe this gives off, while keeping lots of interest with the colored cardstock. What do you think?
