Hi everyone. It’s time to hop along with us as we inspire you with the March 2022 Spellbinders Clubs Blog Hop!! The Club sets are revealed and released on 1st of the Month by Spellbinders – my card today features the Small Die of the Month – ‘Floating Bunny’. Isn’t it adorable! I couldn’t resist creating another project with this fun little guy (be sure to check out my project from yesterday featuring a different way to use him!)

To create my card, I decided to cut balloons out of patterned paper from an older Spellbinders Card of the Month kit. I backed them onto cardstock first t make them more sturdy. I cut three and added the little ballon knot at the bottom with glue. It’s cut from gold glitter cardstock to tie in with my sentiment.

For my cute little bunny I used pale blue cardstock for his body, alabaster for his ears and tummy, and filled in his face with black and pink cardstocks. I add a little square of white cardstock behind his head to act as an anchor to inlay the eyes and nose. You’ll see his hands only one has the ‘grip’ – to hold the balloons. You actually get two grip hands and two normal hands depending on if he’s holding balloons, swinging or neither!

While the set does come with balloon/swing ‘strings’ to die cut, I decided to use gold thread. I adhered it to the back of each balloon, and then stretched it down to his hand grip, securing with a blob of glue. My background is pale lilac cardstock dry embossed with the January Embossing Folder of the Month. I thought the hearts would add to the cuteness!

For the sentiment, I die cut the ‘spring’ from the set, and ‘happy’ from the Layered Mix & Match Sentiments (Sep 2021 die set). I thought they went well together with similar font. They use gold glitter cardstock stacked onto three additional layers of white cardstock for dimension.

  2. Jenny, your bunny card with him floating away with a bouquet of balloons is so adorable! I like how you used an embossing folder behind him to add interest to the background, but not take away from the cute little guy. I really appreciate your choice to use the March small die of the month in such a different way than the kit suggests. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity and sweet card! -Donna
