Craft-A-Flower time is here!! Altenew is releasing the Orion Geranium today – I’ve never heard of this flower, and I love when a new floral is released by Altenew, I always have to google it and learn a little bit too! (Is that just me?). Of course, it wouldn’t be Craft-A-Flower release day without a blog hop and giveaway to celebrate. Hopefully you landed here from the Altenew Card Blog. I’ve included a full hop list at the end of this post.

You might have noticed in my Altenew Year in Review post, I featured a lot of Craft-A-Flowers, and that I like to use different types of media in some of the layers. Well, today is no different! I first created the leaves – they’re made up of a base layer of vellum, and a top layer of Dazzling Diamond Silver Glitter cardstock, adhered together.

For the geraniums themselves, I used Cherry Blossom Gradient cardstock, with a little pop of vellum and Dazzling Diamond for the stamens to match the leaves. I also added a small pop of yellow to have it stand out.

For my background, I used an A2 panel of patterned paper. I used this gorgeous watercolor look piece from the Summer Garden pad. The colors pair perfectly, and because it is super smooth, unlike watercolor paper, I was able to stamp my sentiment directly onto the background. I used Obsidian Pigment ink and one of my favorite sentiment sets – Across the Pond.

I layered my flowers onto the background, letting the leaves overhang the edge. I hid the foam tape behind the vellum under the flowers. A few Satin White Sequins finished the look.
