Hi Everyone!

I’m excited to be part of today’s blog hop featuring the brand new release for January 2022 from Reverse Confetti. You should have been sent here from Melissa Phillips. If not, I highly recommend grabbing a cup of coffee and starting over at the Reverse Confetti blog. I have three projects to share today and they’re super cute if I do say so myself!

My first two projects feature the new Love Bugs stamp and coordinating confetti cuts. Whenever I get a cute set I always have to stamp all the images and color them, rather than plan the cards out first. I stamped and colored in the images with alcohol markers, and then die cut them out.

For my first card, I decided to create a shaker tag first. I used the new Lovely Tag die set and die cut a window using the main tag and the heart inset inside on Lavender cardstock, then ran it through my die cutting machine. I then cut out a solid tag from pink and gold polka dot patterned paper, and the ring for the tag from gold mirror which I glued to the top hole to reinforce it.

I adhered a panel of acetate to the back of the window tag, and then a double layer of thin foam tape all around the inside of the heart to create a well. I added some Phosphorescent sequins (Little Things by Lucy’s Cards), and a few hot pink sequins from my stash, then closed up the back with the patterned paper panel. I threaded the top with some rainbow floss and tied it up in a bow, then adhered a white notecard.

I selected the hearts, butterfly, dragonfly and ladybug and mounted them around the tag with foam squares. You’ll see I also added some white gel pen highlights, black gel pen on the eyes, and some clear Wink of Stella and Nuvo Crystal Glaze on the antennae and wings for some fun sparkly shine. The super cute sentiments in the set are hard to choose from, but I thought Bugs & Kisses would be perfect! I finished with a few enamel dots.

For my second card, I used the Bumble Bees I’d colored in. I also die cut, then stamped (it’s a closed die) the heart trail twice with black ink.

My background is Bristol Smooth cardstock trimmed to 4 x 5.25″ on which I blended blues and greens to create a blurry landscape. I also splattered a little water and black ink. I adhered down the bee trails with glue and popped up the bees on foam squares. Of course I HAD to use the ‘Just bee-cause’ sentiment! I finished with a few enamel dots and added gel pen, clear Wink of Stella and Nuvo Glaze as before. I just love these little guys!

My final project today is actually a tag. I used the Lovely Tag set again and die cut the main tag from white cardstock and from red cardstock. I also cut the tag hole from the same red and adhered it to the white piece.

The stamp set featured on the tag is the new Poppies set. It’s super modern and layers to create a cool almost retro floral bouquet. I stamped the outline in black ink, then used a bright green ink for the leaves layer. Instead of using the second layer for the leaves, I re-stamped over the top using a darker green ink that I dabbed off half way down with an ink dauber. I then repeated again with darker green ink and dabbed off most of it but the inner most corners of the leaves. This creates a fun almost blended fade up look on the leaves.

For the florals I used the layering circles, stamping deeper reds each time. The centre is black and for a little fun I added gold embellishment dots to the centers. I stamped the sentiments from the set in black over the top and added a few more gold dots. I then used gold thread to tie the two tag pieces together to finish.

I hope my projects inspired you – be sure to head on over to the next stop on the hop: Olga Moss!

Have fun on your hop!
