Hi Everyone!

Catherine Pooler’s latest release – the Storybook Collection – is just out, but I have a card I created with March’s release that I’ve been saving to post for Mother’s Day.

I first took a card panel of CP Premium White cardstock and inked it up completely with Sweet Sixteen ink by taking the pad to paper. I then blended Pixie Dust about half way up from the bottom with a blending tool. I also added some white splatters with some Mr Huey’s white mist.

I trimmed some patterned paper from the Spring in Bloom patterned paper pack diagonally and adhered it over the panel and trimmed off the excess. I added a strip of gold metallic cardstock between the two and mounted the panel to a white notecard.

I stamped the main image from the One in a Millon Mom in WOW! Embossing ink onto Bristol Smooth cardstock and heat embossed in Metallic Rich Pale Gold embossing powder. I then used my Zig Blender Pen and CP inks smushed on a craft mat to ‘paint’ the image. I used Garden Party, It’s a Girl, Pixie Dust and Grape Crush to create the shadows for contrast. I then . die cut out the image with the co-ordinating die.

Before I adhered the die cut, I stamped some of the sprigs from the stamp set with WOW! Embossing ink around the background and let it dry – it lifts the ink on the background to create a subtle watermark effect. I then popped the flowers up foam squares.

My sentiment was stamped directly onto the patterned paper with Midnight ink, and as a finishing touch I added some Springfield sequins here and there.

Happy Mother’s Day!
