Hi Everyone!

I am SO excited to share with you my first creation with the beautiful digi stamps by Alex Syberia. Those of you who follow me will know that I’ve loved Alex’s images in the recent Hedgehog Hollow box and so I was super excited to get to grips with the new digis Alex kindly sent me to play with. And let me tell you, they are stunning. Be sure to go check out the images over on Alex’s Etsy store. The image I’m using today is the Summer Wreath.

I do love digis – instant gratification (no waiting for the mail to arrive!) but also you can really play around with them if you have editing software (but you don’t need them to just print out the image or use a word processing software app like MS Word). There are free applications you can use like GIMP – I use Adobe Photoshop but you absolutely don’t need it.

To create my card, I used my Brother Laserjet printer and printed out the image at 200% onto Bristol Smooth cardstock. I colored it with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers in Pale Pink, Light Pink and Light Purple. The leaves were Light Blue and Grey. I also went back over some of the outlines with a black Micron 0.1 marker. Some of the smaller florals I didn’t outline and this gives an illusion of depth!

I die cut out the image with a rectangle die and added some ink blending. I used Distress Inks in Spun Sugar, Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves around the edges, fading out towards the centre. These colors tied in perfectly with the marker colors I used. I also added some splatters with some black ink and Wilted Violet using a water brush for good measure.

My sentiment is from from the Alex Siberia stamp set from the August 2019 Hedgehog Hollow Box set stamped in black ink directly onto the panel, and then the sub sentiment was heat embossed in WOW! Bright White embossing powder onto black cardstock, and popped up on foam tape.

As a finishing touch, I added some pretty pink crystal gems by Studio Katia dotted about and mounted it all onto a 110lb notecard. Super happy with how this turned out! Stay tuned for more projects using these wonderful images from Alex this week!
