Hi everyone! I won’t lie, this week has been mega stressful, for many reasons. I’m sure many of you are feeling the same. I’ve always said I unwind and relax by crafting, and I unfortunately hurt my back recently (I aggravated an old herniated disc in my lower back) meaning I couldn’t make any cards for a while – sitting / standing for too long has been a struggle. I have however been doing my stretches and exercises and was able to get back to the craft desk briefly this weekend. I went first to the new Spellbinders March 2022 sets, so you’ll be seeing a few of these from me the next few days (including tomorrow where a few of us have project inspiration featuring more the of March sets!) My card today features the ‘Floating Bunny’ Small Die of the Month Set.

Aww!! This bunny can float or swing and I couldn’t resist popping him on a little swing coming out of the clouds that are also included in the die set. For a little set, there’s a lot included this month, and quite a few different possibilities. I die cut the little critter from pale lilac cardstock and white for his ears and tummy. I added a little pink nose and black eyes inlaid into his face (simply adhere a small white strip behind his face to provide the backing). His hands are both the curved grip hands – you can mix and match with two alternate hands for holding balloons or holding nothing – very clever.

I die cut the swing seat and ‘strings’ from white cardstock, and blended some dark brown ink onto the swing seat. I also die cut the ‘swing into spring’ sentiment from white cardstock and gold glitter cardstock, layering them together to create dimension. Finally, I die cut several of the clouds from white cardstock, and ink blended blue onto their base for a little interest.

To pull my card together, I used an A2 base of Alabaster cardstock, dry embossed with the Heart and Soul embossing folder. I then layered my clouds towards the top of the card, using foam tape in some cases for differing dimension, trimming off the excess. I glued the bunny onto the swing, then slipped the ‘string’s into the bunny’s hands, and arranged them behind the swing, securing with glue. I could then pop the entire piece onto the card panel with foam squares, slipping the strings into the clouds.

To finish, I arranged the sentiment around the bunny – something a little different that makes the recipient rotate the card around the swing to read it!
