Hi Everyone!

I hope you’re all having a great week – I can’t believe it’s nearly November, where does the time go?! I love this time of year as it gets crisp and the leaves fall.  If you’re planning on sending handmade cards for Christmas, it’s never too early to start, and the latest release from Catherine Pooler Designs – All The Trimmings – has some great staples for your stash, and awesome Christmas themed goodies to help you in your holiday crafting.  I’m sharing a shaker card today which will hopfully give you some inspiration!

I first trimmed down some of the new patterned paper and adhered it direct to a white notecard.  I then used the Nested Labels dies and used 4 to create two different sized frames (use two at a time to create a slim frame) die cut from silver glitter cardstock.  I used a single layer of thin foam tape strips to adhere the larger frame directly to the patterned paper.  On the smaller frame, I adhered acetate to the back with liquid adhesive before adding a double layer of thin foam strips (which also gives a nice step up between frames dimensionally).

I added a small pile of sequins to the centre of the card and adhered the acetate backed frame over the top (mine are really old ones from my stash – I think I actually have had some of these since I was a kid!!)   Unfortunately I didn’t have any at the time, but Catherine Pooler Designs just released three new sequin mixes, which would be perfect for a card like this! (Linked in supplies below).

For the sentiment, I stamped the Noel from the new Seasonal Sentiments set in WOW! Metallic Silver Sparkle embossing powder onto watercolor white cardstock, and then colored it with the new Mardis Gras ink using a waterbrush.  I then trimmed it out, leaving a border, and adhered with liquid adhesive.
