Hi Everyone!

I was SO EXCITED to be asked by Concord & 9th recently to be a Guest Designer for their November 2020 Give Thanks, Spread Love release! Over the next few weeks (on Feature Fridays) I’ll be sharing projects I created with the new release. I also managed to get my mitts on the new inks and cardstock finally and WOWZER! The colors are LUSH. I’m normally not a red/orange person, but let me tell you, the Poppy cardstock has to be seen in real life. It almost glows.

For this week’s Feature Friday we are focusing on the Postmarked Turnabout stamp and the Snail Mail Stamp and Die set. My first card is a slimline. I wanted to feature all of those gorgeous cardstocks on one card as I just couldn’t choose between them. I grabbed a sheet of each color and using my trimmer, cut a half inch strip of each color (except the browns and neutrals). I adhered them over a panel of white cardstock trimmed to 4 1/8″ x 9 1/8″ using dry adhesive, and then cut off the excess. I spattered the panel with some gold spray and when dry, adhered to a 110lb white note card with foam strips, leaving a small border.

My sentiment was die cut using the Snail Mail dies. I used the large postage stamp and also. added the ‘Love You Lots’ and ‘Hi’ into the centre when die cutting it to create a custom sentiment die cut, which I mounted in the centre of my card with foam strips, adding the little centres of the Os too! I couldn’t resist stamping out the little guy from Snail Mail himself – I used Mushroom ink for the outline, Stardust for the body and Honeysuckle for the shell, then die cut and mounted him onto my sentiment!

For my next card, I used the Postmarked Turnabout. This is one of the easier Turnabouts to. line up. I made sure to use my turnabout jig which makes things much easier. I first stamped it onto an A2 panel of Aqua Sky cardstock. I first stamped with Oceanside ink, then turned and stamped with Peacock, then Aqua Sky, then Sea Glass. I added a few gold splatters and set aside.

I repeated this process again using white cardstock. I mounted the white panel onto a white notecard base. I then cut the Aqua Sky cardstock at an angle and aligned it over the white panel with foam tape, exactly lining up the images. To finish, I diecut the little postage stamp from the Snail Mail die set and stamped the ‘Happy Mail’ sentiment on top (both sentiments are included with the Postmarked Turnabout) using Midnight ink. I stamped the small subsentiment in Midnight also and trimmed it out, mounting both in the upper left with foam tape. A few crystal confetti sequins finished the card!

  1. Wow! Love the beautiful rainbow of colours on the slimline card – simple and stunning. The turnabout card is just fabulous – love the way you’ve used the two colours of card. Great work.
