Hello there everyone! The new Beautiful Sentiment Vignettes Collection by Becca Feeken for Spellbinders is now out and I have two cards to share with you that use the frames from one of the dies two different ways!

The die I’m featuring in both of my cards is the Birthday Wishes Vignette. This comes with the larger frame (and outline die), then an inner outline die and Birthday Wishes inner frame. For my first card, I die cut out both frames from white cardstock and mirror gold cardstock and adhered the gold behind the white, slightly offset. I then used the largest outline die to cut out a panel of patterned paper with a space theme which I backed onto the frames with glue.

I adhered the panel onto a white notecard with foam tape – this card measures 5 x 7 for a larger scale card.

I also decided to embellish the frame with the coordinating Petit Floral Potpourri floral dies. I die cut several of them from the same galaxy patterned paper, and a few leaves and stems from the gold mirror cardstock.

I arranged the flowers in a couple of corners to frame the sentiment, fluffing up the leaves and stems for a little dimension. I added a few Gold Mix Color Essentials gemstones to finish.

For my second card, I decided to create a shaped shaker card – and it’s easier than it sounds! I die cut the outer frame out of a pale pink cardstock, and the inner frame from holographic cardstock. I also cut the outer frame once more from holo cardstock, and the outline die from pale blue cardstock which I also die cut a window in the centre using the inner outline die. I adhered the pink outline frame to the pale blue, and then inlaid some of the holo pieces making sure not to cover all of the blue.

On the back of the piece, I adhered a small panel of acetate then adhered the entire piece to fun foam, which I had cut with the inner outline die, to create my shaker well. I have some pretty pastel sequins in my stash in yellows, whites and pinks which I added to the well, then closed it up with a small panel of white cardstock.

To finish, I adhered the Birthday Wishes holo panel with glue to the window. I created a small folded white notecard that adheres to the back without peeking out – this allows a greeting to be added, and for the shaped shaker to stand!

I hope this gives you some ideas for using these fun vignette dies!

  1. The darker one looks like a window to outer space. I really like the look and I saved a copy to my inspiration file. Thank you!
