Hi crafty friends!! Welcome to my stop on today’s Altenew Craft Your Life Project Kit Garden Rose blog hop!! This set is BEAUTIFUL and I have not one but two projects to share today. If you landed here from Jennifer McGuire’s blog you’re on the right track! Stay tuned for the full hop list and giveaway!

This is a gorgeous set, featuring a 6×8 stamp set, coordinating die set, as well as a stencil and embossing folder.

I created a LOT of the pretty roses for my first card. I stamped both of the roses several times until I had five blooms, using Jet Black ink for the outlines. I also stamped several of the leaves in the same black ink. I stamped the colors of the rose layers in Baby Pink and Fuchsia Crisp Dye inks. I then die cut out all the leaves and flowers with the coordinating dies.

The background was dry embossed with the Garden Rose embossing folder, and I then arranged flowers and leaves in the centre with foam tape.

I splattered Jet Black ink spray, and Frosty Pink Metallic Shimmer Ink Spray over the entire panel and scattered a few iridescent sequins. The sentiment was heat embossed in Rose Gold on Jet Black cardstock and popped into the centre to finish!

My second card uses the striped stencil from the set. I blended it with a purple Ink (I think it’s Andromeda) and flipped it round to cover the entire background. I heat set it and then used the “Hello” stencil to push embossing ink through the stencil, and heat embossed it with Rose Gold. I also edged the entire panel with the same embossing powder, by running the embossing ink pad up the edges.

I heat embossed the leaf and rose outlines in Rose Gold, and then colored them using the masking stencil in the kit. I used the same purple ink for the main rose, and Ultramarine for the leaf. I die cut them and mounted them with foam tape onto the stencilled panel, where I also stamped a sub-sentiment in Obsidian pigment ink. I finished with a few Jet Black ink splatters and popped the piece onto a panel.

  1. I love the roses bouquet card. And it’s a beautiful background using the roses embossing folder. It’s hard to tell the embossing from the photo a first glance, but I bet the card in real life is breathtaking.

  2. I never thought about heat embossing the edges of a card before. This looks really pretty with the rose gold.

  3. Oh my, the purple flower is gorgeous!! I absolutely love how the rose almost looks like it’s alcohol ink on yupo. So very pretty! Can’t wait to get my hands on the new kit:)

  4. I especially admire the card with the diagonal stripes, and the embossed hello. That embossing was very distinctive and different, nice!!!
