Hi everyone! It’s a new month, and a new YEAR and that means new Spellbinders Club Kits. I have three cards to share today that feature FOUR of the new kits, and the eagle eyed amongst you may notice that there is a brand new kit club added to Spellbinders line up – the Embossing Folder of the Month! Super excited about this one, as you know I LOVE embossing folders. I’m featuring it on my first card. The folder is called ‘Spreading Love’ and it is 5.5″ x 8.5″. The new club folders will typically be this size, enabling them to be used for not just A2 cards, but slimline and 5 x 7 cards as well!

I dry embossed the folder in my Platinum 6 using an A2 panel of white cardstock, making sure to centre the heart arches. I actually flipped over the dry embossed panel for my card, so that it is debossed rather than raised.

I embellished using the brand new Glimmer of the Month ‘Love Enclosed’. I glimmered the floral heart onto a scrap of red cardstock in Aura hot foil, then die cut it out with the co-ordinating heart die in the kit. I also glimmered several of the sentiments from the kit in Matte Gold and die cut them out.

To finish the card, I adhered the heart and one of the sentiments from the set with foam tape and added a few Fashion Gold Embellishments to finish.

I hot foiled the second heart in the Glimmer Kit in Bright Pink hot foil onto white cardtock and die cut it out for my next card. Love this sentiment (Jerry McGuire!). This next card also features the January Small Die Kit Club ‘Lotta Heart’. It cuts out several blog pieces, and tiny hearts (in halves) so you can paper piece the entire thing in different colors if you so choose. It also leaves a heart window in the centre (and comes with an alternative window heart die which I use on my final card).

I die cut the panel from red cardstock, and again from hot pink cardstock. I didn’t remove the hot pink from the die, rather I added lots of foam squares to the back of the main panel pieces, and adhered a panel of white cardstock which I then trimmed around. This gave me a fully popped up and perfectly aligned pink block, with little white hearts.

I used the red hearts die cut from the first piece, and placed them inside each heart on one side only, glueing them directly to the white background. You can see in the photo above this dimensional look it gives.

I then mounted my glimmered heart from earlier into the centre with a double layer of foam tape. This sentiment has lots of white space that can be embellished with gems or die cuts, so I did both!

I embellished with some little flowers and leaves, dies included in the Glimmer kit. I also added a few Crystal Mix Color Essential Gems and mounted the entire piece onto a white note card.

I also wanted to feature that heart included in the Small Die kit – I die cut it from red cardstock, and then used the heart outline die from the Glimmer kit to die cut a pink heart and adhered the two together. I also die cut some more of the floral dies in the Glimmer set, and adhered them to the heart, along with one of the glimmered sentiments from earlier. (And check out that envelope – I couldn’t resist adding that new Glimmer sentiment in matte gold to the flap!)

For my background, I added some simple pink ink blending a little larger than the heart, and a few gold metallic ink splatters. I then popped the heart up on foam tape and added a few Fashion Gold Embellishments to finish!

I’ll be back again with some more kit club inspiration – be sure to check them out over on the Spellbinders club page. There are lots to choose from, and you can even bundle up and save. You can join any time between the 1st and 24th of the month (24th January is the last chance to join to receive the January clubs).

Happy New Year!
