Hi everyone!

Do you remember that pretty kaleidoscope heart die that Spellbinders released in their die of the month sets in February? Well, I couldn’t resist featuring them again for today’s card – Spellbinders just released a new color of Glimmer foil – Lavender Petal – it’s a super pretty pale purple and just perfect for pairing with hearts. Also a great opportunity to show you the new Glimmer Essentials Duo Lines plates!

The Duo Lines plates I used here are the rectangles, and they come in other shapes too. They’re a perfect double straight line set of nesting glimmer plates that can be used to foil elegant borders on your cards. I used the largest in the set to Glimmer a lavender border onto pale gray cardstock. I also glimmered white cardstock using a smaller one in the set.

I die cut the heart border from the same pale gray cardstock and adhered it to the white rectangle, then mounted it with foam tape into the centre of my gray card panel. Using the kaleidoscope heart dies, I die cut three layers from the gray cardstock, gold mirror cardstock and a scrap of pale purple glitter cardstock and adhered them together. I then mounted the heart onto my card using foam squares.

I die cut a few of the little florals (included in the heart set) from the same glitter cardstock and gold cardstock and popped them around the heart. I also added some tiny blue crystals into the centres.

My sentiment is from the Becca Feeken Glimmer Heart Melt Sentiments, which I glimmered in Aura glimmer foil onto black cardstock and mounted to finish!

These new Glimmer rectangles are just as they say – essential – a perfect way to frame your focal images without adding bulk, and add a bit of shimmer! Isn’t that new Lavender Petal foil gorgeous!?

  1. What a great idea to foil the borders and oh don’t you just adore that new color. I just had to get two rolls of that! Love your layout and the foil choice against the gray perfection!
