Hellooo everyone how are you this fine Sunday? We’ve just about dug out from the Nor’easter yesterday – where we were it was pretty light comparative to nearer the coast thankfully, although brrrrrr!

Today I’m featuring the new Be Bold Color Block Collection from Spellbinders. These die cut to create a fun little jigsaw that builds up a big word as the focal point of the card, in a mini slimline size – 6.25 x 3.25″.

I have the Congrats and the Thank You sets, which also come with a small font to finish the sentiment – there is also a Birthday set as well.

I’m using Spellbinders’ gorgeous cardstocks on the cards today too. i decided to use three colors, and a metallic on each, and rather than adding in the negative in different colours as well, I just kept those white so only the letters stood out.

On my congrats card, I used Dahlia, Pink Sand and Persimmon Color Essentials, plus Gold Mirror cardstock. I cut all the pieces, and then adhered them to a white panel of cardstock, using Bearly Art glue for the inner white pieces.

I used thin strips of foam tape on the backs of the letters and mounted them up onto card panel.

I die cut the ‘yay!’ from black cardstock and layered it under Glossy Black cardstock. I then arranged the word at fun angles across the main letters with foam squares. I mounted the entire panel onto a mini notecard (6.5″ x 6.25″ scored at 3.25″).

To finish, I added a scattering of Fashion Gold Embellishements to tie in with the Mirror Gold in the letters.

On the Thank You card, I used Spellbinders Brushed Silver, Glacier, Peridot and Waterfall cardstock. I applied them using the same technique again, popping up the main letters away from the white background.

I die cut the ‘you’ from black and Glossy Black cardstock and adhered them over the top with foam tape again.

I love the extra dimension this gives by having a double foam tape layer as you can see in the shot above. I finished by embellishing with Silver Fashion Embellishments.

I went bold with the colors in these cards, but you can equally use soft colors or even patterned paper!
