Hi Everyone!

It’s day 2 of the Concord & 9th release week and today we are showcasing the Pop-Up Shoppe Base Die Set. This set is pure and utter genius. It has all the pieces you need to create a little storefront, as well as signage, chairs and a table, hedge rows, lamps and is so much fun to play with. (Hint sneak on tomorrow’s showcase – there are add ons!)

I had tons of fun playing with these – and I decided to go for a fun pink coffee hang out, complete with matching pink window boxes and chairs inside and out. (You’ll see more on where I got those things ON the table tomorrow).

While this looks like a really complicated die set to pull together, it’s actually quite straightforward to create the base outline, and you can then embellish however you like. I used Concord & 9th cardstock for all of my die cuts today (except a tiny bit of gold mirror cardstock on my cupcake).

For my window panes, I used vellum rather than acetate as recommended in the ‘how-to’ video from C9. I wanted to add a translucent layer and add more chairs and tables behind the window – by using vellum it adds a little perspective illusion as things appear faded and therefore further away. I think it would be SO COOL to heat emboss the name of the shop or a little saying onto the window too just like real bake shops.

I stamped ‘Coffee’ on the signage (from an add-on set featured in tomorrow’s post) but you could also add sentiments here or whatever your recipient might like to see. What’s cool is that the entire base and the sign fold down so it all fits perfectly into an envelope! Genius!

One last little tip – that strip across the top is really key to adhere to your note card first – it helps you align the scored and folded base die into place on your note card so that it all perfectly folds down to fit into an envelope – don’t confuse the strip with the wider one that goes behind the planters on the top – I did at first!

This base die has so many possibilities – you could add different things in the window, under the windows, use other floral stamps from your stash or other dies – all sorts !

Until tomorrow!

Jenny
