Hi Everyone!

I’m back today with a pair of cards that feature Spellbinders’ latest Small Die and Embossing Folder of the Month Club sets for August 2022. The Embossing Folder might be one my favorite yet ‘Intertwined Lattice’ is a great modern pattern that goes with anything. I’ve used it on both of my cards today.

For my first card, I chose a Saffron colored panel of cardstock, and dry embossed it with the Intertwined Lattice. I chose to use it with the de-bossed side up. I then selected cardstock from my stash to start my die cutting – I’m using the new Small Die for August 2022 ‘Outlined Sentiments’. This has lots of layered sentiments (a larger bubble layer and a fine word layer). It also comes paired with whimsical blooms and leaves which I’ve used on both cards.

I did all of my die cutting first, cutting more than I needed. For the stems I used some kraft cardstock. For the flowers I used Purple Mist, Pink Sand and a scrap of pale coral from my scrap drawer. For the leaves I used Teal Topaz, Blue Spruce, Lagoon and Waterfall. I adhered the piece together first, including some Gold Mirror cardstock for the flower centres then set aside.

For the sentiment for my first card, I die cut the upper layer from Gold Mirror and the second layer from Vellum. I adhered them together and to adhere them to my card, I first chose which floral would go behind them. I then added glue to the back of the sentiment where it would touch the floral (for example that large purple bloom in the top right) and adhered it to the floral, which I then mounted to the panel with foam squares. I repeated this with the other side until the ‘Hello You’ was anchored to the panel.

I then arrange the rest of the leaves and florals around the sentiment tucking here and there with foam squares. I added some gold shimmer spray splatters with a small paintbrush. I added gemstones to the centre of the large florals and then scattered a few iridescent sequins here and there to finish.

For my second card I used a panel of pale blue cardstock, and die cut it with the larger layer of the Thanks die. I then ran it through with the embossing folder so that the embossed side faced up. (Doing it this way avoids flattening the embossing when you die cut).

I arranged a few of the leftover leaves and florals around the panel, and adhered the panel to a white notecard with foam tape. I inlay the fine layer of the Thanks sentiment into the area that is now raised up from the notecard, and added a sub sentiment glimmered in Matte Gold. This is from the Paisley Glimmer set from June’s Glimmer Club

I added more gold splatters, then added a few iridescent sequins to finish.

Love these fun leaves and florals – the fun little details like the leaf stem are just so cute! You can get your hands on the Clubs subscriptions, starting with the August Club Kits now over on the Spellbinders site. Links are below. Enjoy!
