Hi Everyone! I hope you’ve all had a fun weekend, and are staying healthy and washing those hands! I live in Westchester New York which is a bit of a hot spot in the current health scare so I’ve been staying in more than usual – but I did get a LOT of crafting done this weekend as a result. I’ll be sharing my creations over the next few weeks. Today’s card was created for the WOW! Embossing Fans March Monthly Theme Challenge. Our theme this month is ‘new to you’ and this new Sparkling Sand embossing glitter from the new WOW! Dockside Trio of embossing powders.

To create my card, I first did a little ink blending with the Altenew Leaves & Berries stencil, and some pale colored inks. I like Altenew Vanilla Cream and Hazelnut – they have similar tones to antique golds, perfect as a backdrop for the Sparkling Sand embossing glitter from the trio. I made one side bolder than the other, fading out towards the left. I spritzed with clear shimmer spray before lifting up the stencil. I also added some Altenew Antique Gold splatters.

The frame is from the Pinkfresh Studio Pretty Frames 2 die cut three times fro 110lb Neenah Solar White cardstock and glued together. I adhered the thicker frame onto my ink blended background and trimmed off the excess before popping it onto a white notecard.

For my main focal piece, I used a large chipboard flower and painted it with the WOW! Mixed Media brush. This is almost like a nail polish bottle brush but with WOW! embossing ink! I then heat embossed with Sparkling Sand, and repeated. This creates a gorgeous sparkly chunky pretty embellishment for the card which is easily adhered with liquid glue.

The sentiment is from the Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Poppy which I heat embossed in WOW! Opaque Bright White on black cardstock, trimmed it out and popped it up on foam tape.
