Good day my crafty friends! I’ve been stitching again! I just love the stitched dies that Spellbinders has been bringing out recently don’t you? They’re SO relaxing to just die cut and chill in front of a good movie. And so simple to stitch (or as complicated as you make them!) Well, the May Large Die of the month as several stitchable elements including this super pretty frame (with coordinating frame outline die) and a little border of flowers that has two dies to create a separate border, an edge or just directly onto your card panel.

For my first card I used the main die from the set. I die cut it twice from 110lb cardstock and trimmed with the border die. To stitch I’m using variegated (or ombre) floss in a variety of colors. I used three strands of the six strand floss for my stitching and a large cross stitch needle. I used pink, red and purple floss for the flowers, and gray-black for the leaves. I also used a double strand of silver metallic thread for the stems and flower centres.

I adhered the second layer to the back and then mounted the piece with thin foam tape onto a white card that I glimmered with the ‘You’re the Spring in My Step’ sentiment (from the March 2021 Glimmer of the Month) in Matte Silver. I finished with a few some Silver Mix Color Essentials gemstones.

I also created a much simpler card with the little border. I die cut the stitching holes and one edge to create a border edge, and then stitched using the same ombre floss in pink again. I trimmed it down and adhered it with foam tape to a white notecard, and finished with a few more Silver Mix gemstones.

The sentiment is from the new Glimmer of the Month for May, foiled in Matte Silver die cut with the coordinating banner die, mounted on a strip of foam tape. I kept this card clean and simple with just a few gems for subtle sparkle!

The color possibilities for this set are only a limited as your floss – you can even use the dies without stitching!
