Hello there everyone!! It’s time for Altenew’s reveal of the brand new Craft Your Life Project Kit – May’s kit is ‘Florescence‘ and it’s a stunner! Today’s post is part of a blog hop showcasing the kit. I recommend you head on over to the Altenew Card Blog to start at the beginning of the hop.

Enjoy floral florescence with stunning flowering blooms. Stamp the two elaborate clusters of poppies, chrysanthemums, and daisies to bring floral beauty to your projects. They are perfect to fill card backgrounds or frame your scrapbook layouts. Color the floral intricacies with watercolor or brush markers for a vibrant touch. Finally, stamp any of the uplifting sentiments or quotes to brighten a loved one’s day. Enjoy our Craft Your Life Project Kit, an exciting monthly package that is sure to get the creative juices flowing! Featuring a 6×8 stamp set, coordinating die set, as well as a stencil set and embossing folder to fit the theme, this project kit has almost everything you need to start crafting. Just add ink and cardstock, and you’ll be good to go!

For my card today, I wanted to create a super soft look, using the embossing folder and the coloring stencil, which work together really well. I first used the stencil, adhering it with Satin Masking Tape over a panel of white cardstock. I then used my Large Ink Blending Tool and ink blended the centralflower into the centre of the cardstock. The purple color I used was what was left on my tool from a prior project – I believe it was Amethyst ink.

I overlaid the Florescence Embossing Folder over the ink blending, lining it up as best as possible. It’s a relatively forgiving pattern if you’re not quite right. I then ran it through my die cutting machine to dry emboss the entire pattern over the top. I then had a stenciled central floral and white leaves and small flowers.

I then used an ink that was darker than the original – Grape Agate – and blended again over the top of the now dry embossed image. Where it catches the raised areas, it adds shading and I blended it out a little, onto the leaves and smaller florals, but only slightly. I stamped the sentiment from the Florescence stamp set in Obsidian Pigment Ink.

I trimmed the panel a little then mounted it onto a white notecard, finishing with a few Rose Gold sequins and Antique Gold Metallic Ink Spray splatters.
