Hi everyone! Gina K Designs has a new release going live tonight, and I’m excited to be joining in with the release reveal inspiration today! I’ve created two projects with the new Spread Your Wings stamp set which features a stunning butterfly flower as its centerpiece! I also love the coordinating flower stamp, perfect for watercoloring!

I started by taking an A2 panel of watercolor cardstock, and stamped the flower stamp several times to completely cover the panel using embossing ink, adding Copper embossing powder and heating it between each stamping. I then watercolored the panel using watercolor brush pens. I wanted rich, velvety colors to pair with the Copper embossing powder, so chose a chocolate brown for the background, with very little water (only a little to spread it around), and a deep ultraviolet for the florals. I used an emereld green for the leaves. I added lines of color and pulled them out with a waterbrush to get that depth of color.

When the panel was dry, I die cut a heart from the front using the Master Layouts 4 die set. I kept the die cut for my second card and flipped over the negative to create a shaker, adding acetate and a double layer of thin foam tape around the outside of the heart.

For my background panel, I simply stamped several more flowers on white cardstock using a pale purple ink. I then piled up several sequin mixes in chocolate, purple and iridescent on that back panel and overlaid my shaker window panel to secure the sequins. Before applying to a white notecard, I heat embossed my sentiment in Copper onto a strip of vellum and folded it around the shaker panel, securing at the back.

For my second card, I stamped the floral stamp in pale purple ink again, over a panel of white cardstock. I then heat embossed that gorgeous butterfly onto vellum with Copper embossing powder and then fussy cut it out. I arranged the heart from the first card and the butterfly onto my stamped white panel, checking where I wanted them to go before adhering with foam tape.

I stamped my sentiment in black ink, nestled into the arrangement, then finished with a few of the sequins I’d used in my shaker to perfectly coordinate this card pair!

Don’t you just love the rich, glam look of that copper embossed butterfly?
