Hi everyone,

It’s time for another Time Out Challenge and this week we have a very different photo inspiration for you!

I created my my background to mimic the background in the photo using an embossing folder (Rivets by Tim Holtz). I embossed it onto pale blue cardstock, but before doing so, I inked it up with some blue ink slightly darker than the card stock (I used Fiesta Blue by Catherine Pooler) so that when I ran it through my die cutting machine, the ink pressed into the cardstock. I then adhered this background to a white card base.

For my florals, I stamped images from the Altenew Frosted Garden stampset by first spritzing the stamp with water, and then tapping some powdered watercolor onto the stamp (very sparingly). I used Infusions by Paper Artsy in Raspberry and Violet Storms. I stamped them down onto watercolor cardstock and left Misti door in place while the watercolor soaked into the cardstock (maybe for 2 minutes). I then lifted it and dried it, leaving stamp in place.

I stamped the image over the top again, this time with WOW! embossing ink, and then heat embossed with WOW! White Pearl embossing powder. This is translucent and adds a subtle detail on the paint. I then die cut the images out with the co-ordinating die cuts.

I stamped a jar image from another Altenew set (Garden Silhouette) in Stone Blue ink, and trimmed it out. I cut a slit in the top with a knife and then slipped the stems of the florals in the top and adhered all of the elements to the card base.

The sentiment was stamped from the Altenew Crafty Friends in embossing ink onto black cardstock, and heat embossed in WOW! Opaque Bright White. I then popped it onto the card and scattered a few Aspen sequins to finish!

The photo inspiration is above. Be sure to head on over to Time Out to link up! There is a $25 GC up for grabs from Stamplorations for the winner! We are also joined by a wonderful Guest Designer Greta this week – be sure to check out her gorgeous inspiration!

Have a wonderful day!

  1. I love how you mimicked the background wall and such a good idea to use the ink like this before embossing-adds a real feel of texture. And the colour of the flowers works so well with the blue and what a creative way to build up the design of the flower-adore the shine it gives x
