Hi everyone!
Today I have two cards to share that both feature the July 2022 Glimmer Hot Foil Club ‘Add a Stripe of Color’. This is a great staple set for your stash – it includes a die that cuts different width strips of cardstock, perfect for adhering to create a striped background. It also includes a plate that can be glimmered to create hot foiled parallel lines as well!
On my first card, I kept it clean and simple, glimmering the hot foil plate only, onto a panel of Glossy White cardstock with the Mini Rainbow Stripe Glimmer Foil
I also added the ‘with gratitude’ sentiment (from last month’s Paisley Glimmer set). I foiled this second, in Matte Gold, aligned with the horizontal foiled lines. It still looked a little too clean and simple to me 😮 so I added a few gold shimmer spray splatters to finish. You can wipe off the spray on the foiled stripes or leave them to dry. I chose to leave them to avoid smearing them onto the white.
For my second card, I pulled in the new July 2022 Embossing Folder Club set ‘Geometric Stripes’. I dry embossed it several times using differently colors of cardstock – Purple Mist, Pink Sand, Beeswax and Raindrop – making sure to align it in the same place each time against the vertical edge.
I then chose the Purple Mist as my base and trimmed the other colors into strips, making sure to only trim along blank areas or lines, not cutting up the pattern itself. I also die cut several strips using Gold Mirror cardstock using the die from the Add A Stripe Of Color set.
I then proceeded to add the strips over the top using foam tape, lining them all up against that purple base to replicate the pattern interchanging the colors. I then adhered the Gold Mirror strips here and there with liquid glue.
I added several pearls (pink, blue and yellow) to embellish the front and then added a hot foiled sentiment from the same set as before, from last month’s Glimmer Hot Foil Club, which I adhered to the centre.
Get cutting those strips!
