Hi everyone!
I hope you’ve all been having a good week so far – I can almost taste the weekend! Today I’m sharing a card that features Spellbinders June 2022 Embossing Folder Club. This month’s folder is called ‘Botanical Diamond and features an almost stained glass looking set of shapes, interspersed with leaves.
I kept my card simple, and I love ink blending over the top of dry embossing. I used an A2 panel of white cardstock, and dry embossed the folder image, running it through my Platinum 6.
I then used three colors of inks for ink blending that coordinated well together – a hot pink, a paler purple and a soft blue. Rather than ink blending ‘stripes’ I built up the layers one on top of each other. I first blended the blue ink down towards the bottom, fading it out at the edges towards the bottom, trying to follow that triangular shape of of the pattern. I then blended the pale purple, starting once again at the top and blending over the blue, approximately half of the way down. I then finished with the hot pink from the top about a quarter of the way down. This gives a beautiful rich coloring to the purple at the top and a glam, mermaid style blend.
I added splatters of of gold shimmer ink spray with a paintbrush then set aside to dry.
For the sentiment, I used the “hello’ included in the June 2022 Large Die Club Kit (Paisley Dreams), die cutting it once from Gold Mirror Cardstock, then three times from white cardstock, adhering them together. I adhered it over the top of the ink blended panel then adhered the panel to a 110lb white notecard to finish.
