Hi Everyone! Welcome to my stop on today’s Altenew June 2022 Marvelous Monthly Series, welcoming in June’s new Subscription products. You hopefully were sent here from Dana Joy’s blog. If not, I recommend you head on over to Altenew Blog to start at the start!

I have a project to share for each of today’s releases, and first up is the Paint-A-Flower Flowering Dogwood. I stamped it in pale green ink (Pistachio) onto coldpress watercolor cardstock. I then painted it by using Watercolor Brush Markers in various colors, and a little brown Espresso ink, adding a few splatters and shading the centre.

When dry, I trimmed out the florals with scissors and adhered them to a panel of black cardstock, dry embossed with the Flower Bed Embossing Folder.

I stamped the sentiment in Obsidian Pigment Ink and trimmed it out, then layered it all up with foam tape.

My next card features the Craft Your Life Project Kit Silk Art which is absolutely gorgeous! Using Spicy Yogurt cardstock, I used the large solid stamp and inked it up with pale pink ink (Blush) and stamped it down.

I then overlaid the stencil and added deeper ink colors to add contrast, including Lavender Fields and Midnight Violet. I finished with a stamped sentiment in Obsidian and some Lavender Fields Metallic Shimmer Ink Spray (and a touch of gold gel pen in the centres).

My next card features the new Craft-A-Flower: Cape Margeruite. This is a super fun CAF card, and I had a little fun with it. For my backdrop I used a sheet of patterned paper from a set by Altenew.

I then die cut the florals layers from cream cardstock and dark purple cardstock. I also used leaf dies from the Morning Flowers coordinating die set. I layered the florals together and curved the leaves for more dimension.

I then adhered the leaves and flowers to the card with foam tape. I stamped my sentiment in the corder and added some clear drops to the flower centers and leaves here and there. To add a little shimmer, I also added some splatters of Frosty Pink Shimmer Ink Spray.

My next card uses the Build-A-Garden: Nature’s Magic. I decided to use heat embossing rather than coloring for this one, and keep it neutral. I first die cut a panel of Jet Black cardstock, using the coordinating dies from the set. I then overlaid it onto a panel of white cardstock in my MISTI and aligned my stamps in the openings.

I inked them up and stamped them with embossing ink, then heat embossed the floral images in Antique Gold embossing powder onto a panel of white cardstock. I overlaid the Jet Black piece onto the white and adhered using foam tape to create dimension.

I added the sentiment stamped in Obsidian and spritzed Pure White with a few touches of clear Nuvo Drops here and there to finish.

  1. Fantastic cards. I think the second one where you used lavender fields ink set and the stencil is my favorite. I love the simplicity of it but I would not have thought to use just the stencil that way. Thanks for sharing!
