Hi everyone! I’m excited to join Altenew in their reveal of the new Altenew Craft Your Life Project Kit: Lush Garden as part of a Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Amanda’s blog! All the stops on the hop as well as details on a giveaway can be found at the end of this post. You can also start on over at the Altenew Blog.
This hop celebrates the a new and gorgeous Craft Your Life Project Kit – Lush Garden. These kits are part of a monthly package from Altenew. This month’s features:
- – one 6″ x 8″ clear stamp set and coordinating dies
- – one simple coloring and layering stencil which coordinates with the stamp set
- – one 6×6 3D embossing folder
- – one simple coloring stencil set (3 stencils) which coordinates with the embossing folder
I’m sharing two very different card projets today, both created using products from the kit. My first features the gorgeous Lush Garden 3D embossing folder, and uses the same technique with glossy cardstock I shared in this post where you can find more details on the how to.
This time I used a few blues and pinks, but paler in color (Baby Pink, Polar Bear) and my overlay spray was Antique Gold, which gives a gorgeous shimmering yellow sparkly hue.
All it takes with a folder like this is to add a few subtle clear embellishments like these confetti sequins and mount on a notecard. I did stamp the sentiment directly onto the cardstock using Obsidian Black ink, which nestles perfectly into that floral ‘nook’ area !
My second card is a slimline card and features some really bright colors to create the florals, leaves and background. I used the Lush Garden layering stamp set to stamp out the florals and leaves first, then die cut them out with the coordinating dies. The colors I used were a range of blues including Sea Glass, Ocean Waves, Dusk, and Arctic (and different layering of those colors for each floral) and the leaves were greens in Parrot, and Bamboo. The flower centres are Butternut and Vanilla Cream.
I grabbed a slimline panel of white cardstock, and ink blended the background by repeating the stencil in the kit using the Shades of Purple ink set. I simply inkblended the stencil’s first layer two or three times, rotating it to avoid a uniform look, and then repeated with the second and third layers. The centres are Vanilla Cream, and I also lightly blended that color over the entire panel to get a slightly off white look.
I arranged all of my florals onto the panel with foam tape, and added a white heat embossed sentiment on Jet Black cardstock to finish. Isn’t this just a completely different look?!
