Hello there everyone!!! Who’s ready for MORE new stamps and dies from Altenew? It’s time for us to start dipping our toes into the winter season – even though it’s still just moving into autumn, it doesn’t hurt to get a headstart right?? And there are some gorgeous new designs to be inspired by in today’s Winter Magic release. You should have been sent my way from Michelle Burnier as part of today’s blog hop. You can start over at the Altenew Card Blog if you have only happened upon the hop via my blog.

My first card features several of the new release – the focal point is the gorgeous Shrub Rose Stamp which is a layering stamp set. I dug out my favorite Sugarplums and Tranquility set of inks and stamped out the rose and its leaves onto Solar White cardstock, die cutting them out with coordinating dies.

For the sentiment, I heat embossed the ‘winter magic’ in Antique Gold, using the new Winter Typography stamp and die set. I also die cut several of the Layered Snowflakes and added liquid glue with my finger all over. I then used tweezers to dunk them in white glitter and set aside to dry.

My background panel is stamped with the new Dotted Pinwheels background stamp, using Misty Morning Crisp Dye Ink. Over the top, I hot foiled the new Magic Burst Hot Foil Plate, using Brushed Gold Hot Foil by Altenew (COMING SOON! Stay tuned for the September release!). I then adhered the florals, snowflakes and sentiment over the top with foam tape. I finished with some white crystal gems.

For my next card, I’m using the new Festive Tree Stamp set. I love this set – it’s so fun to play with color combos – as I’m already using the Sugarplums and Tranquility sets, I chose the Pale Mauve and Misty Morning inks for each of the two layers. Linking up the stem centres is really easy and it gives such a great effect.

I stamped the Happy Holidays sentiment from the set over the top in embossing ink (making sure the ink was heat set first) and heat embossed in Antique Silver embossing powder. I also stamped a sub sentiment in Obsidian pigment ink. I finished by adding splatters of Antique Silver Metallic and Iridescent Shimmer Sprays.

My next card features the Layered Snowflake die set. I love how this die set layers perfectly on top of itself as well as being able to use them separately. I once again hot foiled a panel of white (glossy) cardstock with the Magic Burst Hot Foil Plate and Brushed Gold foil.

I then die cut each of the snowflake layers and inked up the layers with each of the Sugarplums inks by brushing them over the top of each of the ink pads. When dry, I spritzed the pieces with Antique Gold Metallic Ink Spray, then layered them together, using liquid glue just in the centre of each of the pieces.

I placed the snowflake over the top of the burst, and ‘fluffed’ up the snowflake arms. I embellished with several iridescent gemstones.

At the bottom of the card panel I adhered the new ‘Tiny Sentiments – Wishing’, die cut from Gold Mirror cardstock, and added a couple of the Tiny Sentiments stamped in Antique Gold Pigment ink to finish.

My final card features more of the Winter Typography stamp set, building up the ‘Merry’ sentiment with the Tranquility ink sets.

I die cut out the ‘Merry’ with the coordinating die and set aside. I dry embossed a panel of white cardstock using the Layered Snowflakes 3D Embossing Folder (from an earlier release). I gently rubbed the Pale Mauve ink pad over the top of the panel and added splatters with the Iridescent and Antique Silver ink sprays.

I aligned the ‘Merry’ without adhering, then heat embossed the ‘& bright’ in Antique Silver embossing powder. I mounted the ‘Merry’ sentiment with foam squares and finished off with a few white crystals.

  1. Love the “Merry…” with snowflake background card. It’s STUNNING. I also like the card w/ the “layered snowflakes” front and center. The shrub rose card is also a real beauty! TFS!!
