Hello friends!

It’s been a super busy week this week! Work and spring cleaning and lots and lots of cardmaking fun! Today I’m featuring the Spellbinders April Small Die of the Month. It’s a superb die featuring perfectly. placed die cut holes to add stitching in! You could totally leave the holes as is though, if stitching isn’t your thing. The die even embosses decorative score lines in place of the stitching.

I decided to stitch my card, and wanted to go for one color of thread. To add some color I decided to die cut the main die from pale pink cardstock, and then added a little hot pink and black edge ink blending for a little drama.

I stitched the panel using a bright gold thread (doubled up) which really pops against the ink blending. Sewing this entire panel took me about 90 minutes – so one good movie (or two episodes of Legacies!). Every time I finished a piece of thread, I simply used a little double sided tape to adhere it to the back of the panel. When I was done, I die cut another panel from the same cardstock, and adhered them together for a little dimension (but only added the glue at the back of the thanks silhouette).

I die cut each of the letters from mirror gold cardstock and mounted them onto my stitched panel with foam squares, then adhered the entire piece to a black notecard (it ended up being approx 7.25″ x 3.5″). As a finishing touch, I used some of the new Gold Mix Color Essentials Gems and added them to the flower and leaf centres with some glue. I love these new gems!

Hope this gives you a little stitched inspiration to brighten your day!
