It’s time for a new release from Pinkfresh Studio and this one features some BEAUTIFUL washi tapes, coordinating dies and stampsets. These are just stunning and we are celebrating with a blog hop to provide you with inspiration- particularly if like me, you’ve never used washi that can be die cut before – it’s super fun! The full list on the hop and giveaway (!) details are at the end of this post.

Today I’m featuring the beautiful Indigo Vines set of washi, stamp set and coordinating die. It is just a stunning color and I paired it with white and navy backdrops with soft vellum and heat embossing to really let the washi be the star of the show.

I adhered the washi to a panel of 110lb white cardstock, and the overlaid the coordinating die and die cut it out. This gives a study die cut to be used on my card panel. My panel is navy cardstock die cut with the Essentials: Stitches die and splattered with silver metallic spray.

I stamped one of the sentiments from the Indigo Vines stamp set in embossing ink onto vellum and heat embossed in white. I then trimmed it out as a strip.

I adhered the washi wreath with foam squares, and before mounting the panel to a card base, I wrapped the washi sentiment strip around the panel and adhered on the back. I then mounted the panel on a white cardbase, leaving a small border, and scattered some Essentials: Jewels to finish.

I created a similar look with my second card (which doesn’t use washi!). This time I heat embossed the Indigo Vines wreath in a pale silver embossing powder onto Navy cardstock, then die cut it out with the coordinating die (that also works on the washi). I also heat embossed a sentiment from the same set in white embossing powder onto black and trimmed it out.

My background panel this time is white cardstock, die cut with the Essentials: Diagonal Stitched Plaid die and again splattered with silver metallic spray. I mounted the wreath with foam squares, and die the same with the sentiment (raising it a little more for dimension), then scattered some Essentials: Jewels again.

My final card uses the leaves from the washi, die cut out several pieces in the same way I did for the wreath, and popped onto the from of a white A2 panel, rotating the images and trimming off any excess. I added a Leafy Circle die cut from silver mirror cardstock.

My sentiment is from the Happy Birthday Sentiments stamp set, heat embossed in white embossing powder on black cardstock and die cut out with a coordinating die. I then mounted it into the centre of the wreath. I finished with more jewels, scattered throughout.

  1. Hi, JC –
Your cards are beautiful. I have resisted that cover die pattern (Stitches die) but now it’s going on my list. It packs a punch with a less-busy focal point. I love the way you used the wreath and this whole release is gorgeous.
