Hey folks!

I have two really clean and simple and QUICK cards to share with you today that use Altenew’s Grid Cover die in two different ways.

For my first card I die cut the Grid Cover die from 110lb cardstock to create a stencil. I laid it over a white notecard and ink blended two colors of ink – starting with Fuchsia in the centre and then Fresh Lemon towards the edges, overlapping the colors to create a corally peach color.

You’ll see I faded out the ink towards the edges rather than cover it completely. You can get this effect with any color combo or cover die of choice! I love this Grid Cover die for its geometric simplicity – it goes with anything!

I stamped this awesome sentiment directly over the top using Obsidian Black pigment ink. It’s from Block Sentiments which is a great set with lots of different fonts, perfect for focal points. I finished with clear Confetti sequins.

My second card uses the Grid Cover die cut from Jet Black cardstock and then adhered at an angle onto my white notecard using liquid glue. I trimmed off the excess to get it flush, and then stamped the sentiment also from Block Sentiments in Obsidian Black ink.

To add a pop of color, I used the hearts stamp from the Block Sentiments set and stamped them using Burnt Red ink in a strip across the card. They align perfectly with the grid! I also added them to the side of the sentiment.

So what do you think ? Does it give you a few more ideas for using your cover dies stash?

  1. Both are gorgeous, Jenny! That red, white, and black one is so graphic and eye catching. And I hope to see the positive of the grid “stencil” on another card!💕😍💕!
