Hi Everyone!

It’s time for the amazing new release from Catherine Pooler Designs, and we are celebrating with a video hop.   Be sure to head over to YouTube and follow along, visit every video stop on YouTube (comments on this blog post won’t count) and leave a comment to be in with a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate with Catherine Pooler Designs.  Winners will be announced over on Catherine’s blog on December 17th.

I have two cards for you today, which I created using dry embossing techniques – I love stretching my dies and stencils by dry embossing them, and I’ll show you how here.

You can check out my video for the new release here or over on my YouTube channel:

My first card uses the new Rose Stencil (LOVE!) and ink blending for a soft and feminine shaker card.  I used the awesome Love Connection dies to create my shaker, and the sequins are a lovely new pink and sparkly mix called Inspiration Point.

I actually heat embossed the sentiment (from the new Doodle Hearts stamp set) after I created the shaker – as long as you have your heat gun good and hot it works pretty well !  (Or you could plan ahead and heat emboss the vellum before creating the shaker – unlike me – oops!)

My next card uses the Thank You Layered die (part of Snowy Day) for dry embossing.  This die is SO impactful, and it works fabulously for dry embossing.

I used the same color combo as for the first card, to create a smushed ink panel from which I die cut the Peaceful Flakes dies – these have coordinating stamps but they look great just die cut on their own too. You can also layer (and rotate them) for more complex shapes.

I completed the card with some of the Aspen sequins mix from an earlier release – it has snowflakes in it so was a perfect complement!

Be sure to head on over to YouTube and check out the hop, leave a comment, and be in with a chance to win!  All of the supplies I used and the new release are linked below.

Happy hopping.
