Have we got a celebration for you all today!! Altenew’s monthly release is here, with stamps, and hot foil plates (WOO!) and embossing folders and even a masking tape! I can’t wait to. show you my projects today. If landed here from Colleen Balija blog you’re on the right track. If not, head on over to the start at the Altenew Blog!

For my first project, I’m showcasing the new Satin Masking tape. This tape is a huge roll and perfect for tearing into smaller pieces. It’s sticky without ripping the paper, and is super thin – a great tape for die-cutting and masking. I used it for my project to mask off a rectangular area which I then ink blended to create a blue fade from bottom to top. I used new Tanzanite and Blueberry inks.

Before removing the tape, I placed the panel in my. MISTI and used the new Happy Petals stamp set and stamped over the ink blended area with Enchanted Gold Pigment Ink, pivoted the stamp and stamped again then repeated once more. I finished with a spritz of Dusk Metallic Shimmer Ink Spray then peeled the Satin Masking tape back and adhered to a white notecard.

The sentiment is from the Colorful Soul stampset, stamped in Obsidian ink, and die cut out. I popped it up on foam tape and added a few gems to finish.

My next card features Happy Petals Again, this time with watercolor brush markers. I stamped the image on hotpress watercolor cardstock in embossing ink, and heat embossed in Rose Gold embossing powder. I then used the markers to color in the image, going for deeper hues on the florals and more rustic blends on the leaves. I die cut out the image.

The background is created by dry embossing a panel of kraft cardstock with the new Woven Basket 3D Embossing Folder. I flicked it with Pure White Ink Spray and some of the paint from the markers mixed with a little water. I then mounted the die cut on top. A white heat embossed sentiment finished the composition and I slipped a few Antique Gold sequins here and there for some subtle shine.

My next card might be my favorite of the bunch. I’m featuring the Colorful Soul stamp set again – a fun and whimsical looking layering stamp set. I created a background by repeat stamp ing the layered images – I’m featuring the Tranquility and Sugarplums ink sets to stamp the images.

I overstamped the Thanks sentiment using Obsidian Pigment ink from the new Inside and Out: Thanks stamp set. When dry, I embossed the entire panel with the Dotted Swirls Debossing Cover Die. For a finishing touch, I added white gel pen centres and a few gray enamel dots.

My final two cards feature the new Rose Mellow Stencil Set. I love these layering stencils for creating gorgeous florals while keeping it one layer! I ink blended the florals using the Summer Afternoon set of colors. The leaves feature colors from the Tropical Forest inks.

I once again stamped a sentiment in Obsidian Pigment ink over the top of the florals from the Inside and Out: Thanks stamp set. I also added a few splatters of Metallic Shimmer Ink Spray in Warm Sunshine and Caramel Toffee. I also added a few splatters of Jet Black Ink Spray to finish.

My final card uses the stencil again, but this time I used Rock Collection set of gray inks to create the florals. For the leaves, I used the lighter grays and also mixed in a little pink for the first layer (I’m not sure which, it was whatever was left on my blender!). I trimmed out all of the pieces, and set aside.

My background features the brand new Altenew Blends 6×6 Paper Pack (a gorgeous set of ombre blends). I hot foiled a sheet of deep purple pink using Gold hot foil (i’m using a Glimmer Machine from Spellbinders) and the new Splatter Hot Foil Plate. I adhered the roses to the sheet and added them to a white notecard with foam tape, finishing with a few Satin Gold sequins and Antique Gold Metallic Spray splatters to tie in with the background. The sentiment is another from the Colorful Soul stamp set – love that the sentiments have outline dies!
