Hi Folks! I hope you managed to catch my last two posts showcasing the latest release from Waffle Flower Crafts. I’ve been featuring the Plaid Texture Die, Simply Plaid background stamps and Potted Lily stamp and die combo. Today is my final post and I wanted to show you one last project using these to celebrate the release.

This final project is probably my favorite of the bunch. It uses the Plaid Texture die in a fun way that really brings out the texture.

I die cut a panel of Bristol cardstock with it and then blended inks at random over the top. I chose pretty, soft colors that go well together and reminded me of Easter. The colors I used were Altenew Butternut, Baby Pink, Tide Blue and Ultraviolet. They blended a little to make other colors too (spot the green? Butternut and a dab of Tide Blue). Before setting aside my panel, I liberally spritzed it with Tsukineko Sparkle Sheer Shimmer which is gorgeous and really picks up the dry embossing. I adhered the panel to a white notecard and set aside.

I then stamped the main image from the Potted Lily in WOW! Embossing ink onto vellum and heat embossed in WOW! Oyster Glintz. I’m all about the Glintz powders this week you might have noticed! Before die cutting, I used double sided adhesive on the back of the vellum, and adhered a panel of acetate to give it some sturdiness while still staying translucent. I then die cut out the piece. I had to carefully remove the excess as it was still slightly attached due to the thickness just with some scissors but overall it worked really well, leaving me with a pretty, see-thru and sturdy die cut Lily. It’s worth doing these extra steps – vellum, even 40lb vellum, can curl when heat embossed, and it makes it tough to attach.

To attach the Lily I used clear foam squares – Kool-Tak is very good. Look closely, can you see the foam squares behind the vellum? They’re at the top of the vase, and behind the flower centres, where the embossing is thickest, but it is still unnoticeable!

The sentiment was stamped on white cardstock in Altenew Ultraviolet ink to co-ordinate and then I fussy cut it out and popped it up on foam squares. As a finishing touch, I used some Nuvo Pure Sheen Crystal Gems scattered around the card panel.

I hope I’ve managed to inspire you and show you what you can do with these new products! If you only buy one, as gorgeous as the flowers are, grab that Plaid Texture die – so versatile it will go with anything. (And throw those Lillies in while you’re at it :D).
