You may have seen my post yesterday showcasing some of the new release products from Catherine Pooler Designs – Retro Winter! The release includes FOUR NEW INK COLORS which Catherine was kind enough to send me. Well one of them has become my new favorite ink color – I have all the CPD inks and this one is just beautiful.

The new release is available now and linked below (affiliate links).

The new ink I am in LOVE with is Sangria. It is a beautiful deep red color with slightly purple-black undertones. Super gothic, and very me.

I had to use it all over a card so decided to do some ink blending with it. I used a panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock which I find easiest to blend on, and then proceeded to use my blender brushes to blend the Sangria ink . over the panel, blending up from the bottom of the panel and fading up towards the top, as well as going direct to paper near the bottom of the panel. I wanted to see the variety of color the Sangria ink could give. And let me tell you, the photos do not do it justice.

I darkened the bottom ever so slightly with some Midnight ink and then while the panel was drying, I flicked on some white spray paint and some water. I then dried the panel completely with my heat tool.

As I’m going to emboss on this panel I wanted to make sure it was SUPER dry. I also treated it very liberally with my powder tool. I used the Chillin’ Snowflakes stampset and stamped them all over the panel in WOW! Embossing ink and heat embossed them in WOW! Metallic Gold Sparkle which looks GORGEOUS against the Sangria.

The sentiment is from the same set and was heat embossed in WOW! Opaque Bright White EP onto CPD Midnight cardstock. As a finishing touch I added some of the coppery and Sangria colored sequins from the new Cincinnati mix.

I’m definitely going to have to grab the re-inker for this inkpad. Which of the CP inks is your favorite? Do any of the new ones make your list?
