Hi Everyone!

WOW! Embossing Powder and Catherine Pooler Designs are collaborating and having a Holiday Blog Hop! The full list of hop stops can be found at the bottom of this post along with details on the PRIZES you can win!

On both of my cards I used the utterly stunning Angel Wings die from Catherine Pooler – in two very different ways! Believe me when I say you need this die!

For my first card, I first created an ombre ink panel with some ink blending. I used Catherine Pooler in Pixie Dust and It’s a Boy, blending together in the middle to create a darker purple. I then die cut it with the Angel Wings.

To add some sparkle and shimmer to my wings, I coated them with WOW! Embossing ink by pressing them into the pad with my finger tip and then I sprinkled WOW! Neutral Ultra Shimmer over the top and heated it up. I repeated that twice more, and it gives you a gorgeous glossy sheen and dimension.

My angel is from the Catherine Pooler Designs Merry Christmas Angel set and was stamped over the remaining piece of ink blended cardstock in embossing ink then heat embossed in WOW! Metallic Rich Pale Gold. I trimmed out the angel, trimming off the wings, and then adhered the heat embossed Angel Wings to the back of the angel’s body with liquid glue. When dry, I added some foam squares and adhered it to a white notecard that I had splattered with Nuvo Shimmer Pen in Midas Touch.

For my sentiment I stamped the Merry and Christmas from the same set in WOW! Embossing ink over the last piece of the ink blended cardstock and heat embossed in WOW! Bright White, trimmed it out and popped it over the wings with foam tape.

As a very last touch, I coated the star in the angel’s hands with Nuvo Morning Dew drops and added a little Wink of Stella to the halo.

For my next card I went super clean and simple, letting the gorgeousness of the wings show through. I used WOW! Sparkles, which is glitter not embossing powder.

I adhered a double sided adhesive sheet to a piece of cardstock and then die cut it with the wings. You’ll find that it doesn’t quite cut through the entire piece and you can lift off the pieces of the release paper bit by bit to reveal the card underneath (with adhesive on it). The die cut stays whole (the pieces stay inside). I used this to my advantage, and first removed all the inner pieces and sprinkled WOW! Sparkles in Peachy Keen over the top then tapped off. I burnished it with my finger and then decanted the spare glitter back into the jar.

I then peeled back the outline of the wings, and rubbed in WOW! Sparkles in Glass Slipper and burnished in the same way. I adhered the wings with foam tape to a square card base and rounded the corners. My sentiment was stamped in black ink and is from the Believe in Angels stamp set.

Now, what about prizes! There is a WOW! Embossing Powder $25 Gift Card and a Catherine Pooler $25 Gift Card up for grabs.

Please be sure to leave your comments on each blog post in the hop. Please comment on each post to be eligible to win the Gift Card to CP or WOW!’s stores. Commenting will run for one week with the winner announced on Friday, October 4th over on the WOW! blog.
