Hi Everyone!

The WOW! Embossing and Whimsy Stamps Design Teams are having a collaborative blog hop today! You should have come here from the fabulous Zsoka Marko blog – Stay tuned until the end of this post for details on the next stop on the hop, PRIZES, and how to win them!

For the hop, I created two cards, both featuring Whimsy Stamps (who were kind enough to send me my products) and WOW! Embossing powders.

My first card uses the gorgeous Whimsy Stamps Cherry Blossom Background Stamp. I inked it up in WOW! embossing ink and stamped it onto WOW! Superior Smooth white cardstock, then heat embossed it in WOW! Mayan Glintz (one of my very favorite embossing powders – such a pretty color. I love all of the glintz range).

I also heat embossed the sentiments from Whimsy Stamp’s hilarious sentiment set Cheeky Sentiments in the same powder and trimmed them out (I finished the sentence inside the card).

I wanted a soft and pretty monochromatic look, so I chose to blend an ink that was very similar to the embossing powder – I used Distress Oxide ink in Tattered Rose and blended up from the bottom, fading out towards the top. The embossing powder resists the ink (and you can give it a quick buff at the end). I also used the Tattered Rose to stamp ‘Brilliant’ inside the card. Distress Oxides stamp really well (much better than Distress inks).

I popped the panel onto a white card base and added some accents to the panel using white gel pen on the stems, and Clear Wink of Stella on the flowers. I also added some Spectrum Noir pink sparkle pen onto some of the flowers. I then popped up the sentiments on foam strips and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins.

For my next card I used the Speckled Heart stencil from Whimsy Stamps. I overlaid it on WOW! Superior Smooth white cardstock, and blended Catherine Pooler Inks in Be Mine (pink) and Limoncello (yellow), letting them blend together in the middle where they form a really pretty coral color.

When the panel was dry, I used my powder tool to prevent embossing powder sticking where I didn’t want it, then I heat embossed Hunky Dory from Cheeky Sentiments in WOW! Metallic Gold Rich Pale Regular embossing powder.

I also embossed the sub-sentiment in the same powder onto black cardstock, trimmed it out, popped it on a foam strip and then added the whole panel to a white notecard. As a finishing touch I added some iridescent sequins and rounded the corners.

So that completes my cards!
