Hi Everyone!

I have another card to share with you today that use the Spellbinders Stephanie Low’s Inked Messages – this one uses the main image from the One Day at a Time stamp and die set.   If you missed my post from yesterday, showcasing another set from the collection, you can check it out here.

To create my card, I first created a soft watercolor background using Paperartsy Infusions Dyes (powdered watercolors, similar to Brushos) I used the Rocky Road and Violetta colors, dropping a very small amount of each of the paints onto a wet panel of of Canson XL watercolor cardstock, adhered to a board with masking tape.  I spritzed on lots of water to get a softer look, then set it aside to spread out and dry.

I stamped the watch image onto white cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black ink, and colored it in with my Tombow Dual Brush markers.  I used similar colors to those that ‘appeared’ out of the infusions, and pulled out the color with a teeny bit of water (as I wasn’t using watercolor cardstock) for a subtle look.  In some cases, I went back and added another layer, in places where there would be shadows for contrast.  When dry, I added some highlights with a white gel pen and clear Wink of Stella, and also some sparkle with a silver Sakura Stardust gel pen.

I die cut out the image with the co-ordinating die and popped it up onto the dried watercolor panel using foam squares.  I adhered the entire panel to a white card base.  I added a layer of glossy accents over the entire clock face to make it seem like glass, and I also added glossy accents over the pearls (as tall as I could get them) for dimension.  I added Studio Katia’s Iridescent Bubbles onto the background and onto the petal of the flower for some feminine embellishment that I thought complemented the colors and the image.

Hope you like it!!
