Hi everyone!

I hope everyone in Florida is warm and dry. I’ve been watching the news of Hurricane Ian and my thoughts are with you all in Florida hunkering down – be safe!

Today is Gina K’s new release day too – and while I missed it last month due to vacation, I’m excited to be invited back to give you some inspiration featuring one of the brand new sets. It’s called Warmest Winter Wishes, and I just love tree stamp sets – they’re so versatile for any time of year, not just holiday or winter season.

Seen as it is only just autumn, I decided to keep the sentiments on these neutral – there are Christmas sentiments in the set, along with several single trees and a forest scene. They’re all perfect for a masked silhouette style card – one of my favorites!

For my first card, I used the ‘single’ trees and stamped them on a panel of white cardstock several times, in both dark gray and black inks, overlapping them. I repeat stamped them, adjusting the height and hanging them off the bottom of the card to vary them. The gray gives the illusion that the trees are further away in the background.

I masked off the outer edges of the panel after stamping, using a slim masking tape. I then ink blended a pale blue ink all over the open area, edged it with a darker blue, fading towards the centre, then edged in the darkest blue. I also gave it a spritz of white ink spray and left to dry before removing the masking tape.

I stamped the sentiment and added a few dots of Gina K Crystalline Drops to finish.

For my second card, I stamped the large forest scene onto white cardstock in black ink, keeping the scene towards the bottom of the card panel (overhanging the edges). I then stamped it again onto Gina K Masking Paper and trimmed out the edges, adhering to the card panel.

I used those same blue ink shades again to shade the sky, darkening towards the top of the card panel, and finishing with a spritz of white ink spray. I then set aside to dry before stamping the sentiment over the top in black ink.

I stamped the mountain scene once more onto white cardstock the same panel size as the ink blended layer (l left the stamp in my MISTI so lining up was easy) and trimmed it out with sharp scissors, edging the top with a black marker to tidy it up. I then adhered the mountains with foam squares to add dimension to the scene.

I added the Gina K Crystalline Drops again this time to the mountain peaks and smudged them with my finger to add snowy sparkle to all those mountains, then mounted onto a notecard to finish.

Be sure to head on over to Gina’s facebook page where the live release party is taking place right now!
