Today I have two cards to share that feature the new The Best Things In Life stamp set. This is an unusual set that features brushstrokes and solid leaves and florals, as well as a coordinating outline floral. A great set for creating modern stamped cards.
I used three shades of purple ink paired with black and gold for my color scheme, and kept the same for both cards. For my first, I stamped the leaf outline slightly off to the left side in black ink. I then stamped the brush stroke stamp three times in three different purple ink colors at random over the top. I added some of the solid fill images in similar ink colors, overlaying the brushstrokes, and offsetting slightly to create a white shadow.
I stamped the sentiment in embossing ink and heat embossed in gold, then added some black splatters to finish. I wanted to keep this one layer and clean and simple so didn’t add any other layers or embellishments.
For my second card, I stamped the circular solid stamp into the centre of a white card panel using light purple ink. Keeping the stamp in my MISTI, I inked up with my second purple shade about halfway up the circle, dabbing the ends with a blender to remove any harsh lines then stamped it again. I repeated one more time with the darkest ink, blending out again.
I stamped the sentiment over the top in black ink, and then added a few splatters of gold metallic ink spray to finish – and match up to the heat embossing in the first card. I love that fine line white silhouette outline don’t you?
