Hi Everyone!

I’ve you checked out the new Spellbinders Spring Into Stitching Collection yet? It’s full of those absolutely gorgeous stitchable dies that we’ve come to know and love from Spellbinders. But what if you don’t have any time for stitching? You can still use these dies to create gorgeous projects! Today I’m using them to create three sorts of decorative hanger!

For each of my hangers, I die cut the die twice from the same color cardstock, then adhered them back-to-back with glue. For my first I created a window hanger – these let the light shine through – using the Stitched Petal Frame die, and you can hang them on your windows – really fun! You could add a inspirational sentiment but I chose to keep mine sentiment-less and instead embellish with light reflecting Crystal Mix Color Essentials Gems.

I die cut the pieces from Lagoon cardstock and adhered them. When the glue was dry, I blended dark blue ink around the edges with a blending tool, fading in towards the centre (but leaving the centre light). I then came back in with some black ink and blended in just slightly from the outer edges for depth. I then threaded some rainbow colored twine through the top for the hanger, and added the gems here and there on both sides to finish!

Here’s a look at it hanging on my window in my craft room!

My next hanger features the Stitched Medallion. I die cut it from Dahlia cardstock adn adhered together. When dry, I ink blended some darker purple ink around the edges in the same way as before, then edged with black ink. I also added a few gems here and there and rainbow thread.

I love the detail on this die, and it reminded me of a snowflake. I think this one would be perfect as a Christmas Ornament don’t you? I also loved how you can flip out the points in the centre to add more dimension.

For my final ‘hanger’ I used the Stitched Kaleidoscope Strip. This is one of those fabulous three layer dies that overlay each other for a kaleidopscopic effect. I die cut each strip from a different yellow cardstock, using Beeswax, Saffron and Alabaster. I only cut one of each layer, adhering them together on top of each other.

I decided to use my trimmer and cut the strip in half precisely down the middle and then adhere them back to back for a double sided strip. I then added a hanger in the top, and a few Gold mix gems into the centres of the ovals. I thought this would actually work perfectly as a bookmark!

I hope this gave you some ideas for different ways for using your dies, and shows you how you don’t always have to do stitching on stichable die cuts – however they DO look amazing stitched!!
