Hi Everyone!

Today I’m sharing two slimline cards that both feature Spellbinders fabulous kaleidoscope style dies. That is, three layers to each image, cut from 3 dies that layer on top of each other letting each layer peep through. The ones I’m using in my post today are from the Spellbinders Kit Clubs August 2021 Large Die and August 2021 Small Die sets.

These dies are brilliant for using up your paper scraps. Play mix and match with color combos and keep the background neutral for a winning project. My first uses the Small Die of the Month, and I grabbed scraps in pale blue, navy and sage and die cut each of the dies three times, once from each color.

I then layered them up with Bearly Art Glue. Cutting each layer once from each color means that you can layer up the colors differently. I backed each of them onto pale peach and trimmed around the edge to remove the border. I also used the same peach die cut the border frame but trimmed it down to just one frame.

I arranged the kaleidoscope pieces down the centre of a slimline panel of white cardstock using foam squares. I then adhered the peach frame around the centre hexagon using the top and bottom glue it down to the top and bottom of the outer hexagons, like it’s floating! The sentiment is from the Home For Christmas Sentiments stamp set heat embossed in gold on navy. The whole card was mounted on a slimline note card, and a few Fashion Gold embellishments added for subtle shine.

For my second card, I used the Large Die of the Month. I cut the main hexagonal panel (without the border) out of a slimline panel of white cardstock, then adhered it with thin foam tape onto a slimline notecard. I then grabbed my scrap drawer again and pulled out a few pieces of cardstock from which to cut the hexagons.

The colors I found were a rose metallic, deep iris, and jewel tone blue colors, which look softer than the first color combo and add a little elegance. I layered them up as before, and adhered them with glue in within the white frame.

The sentiment is from a bunch I glimmered in Matte Silver in this post here from the Home For Christmas Sentiments, which I mounted with a foam strip to the centre. I finished with a few coordinating pearls and clear gems.

I hope this gave you a few ideas for grabbing some of those cardstock scraps I just know you have!
