Today I’m sharing a card I hot foiled using the September Spellbinders Glimmer of the Month – the Glimmering Build a Banner set. This is such a cool set that includes dies to trim out a single or double flagged banner. I also went for a little bit of a rustic look with this card.
I started out by ink blending some pinky coral ink up over a panel of rustic cream cardstock, keeping it light. I dry embossed the panel with the new Falling Leaves Embossing Folder. This has some beautiful leaf impressions in it, which I brought out by gently rubbing a gold ink pad over the top, leaving it a little distressed.
I used Rose Gold glimmer hot foil, with which I glimmered the banner onto some more rustic cream and the striped ‘shadow’ pieces on coordinating pink cardstock. The banner is straightforward to create after die cutting out, and you can overlay it on foam tape for dimension.
To embellish, I added a few die cut flowers from the same cardstock using dies from the September Small Die of the Month. I also went a little crazy with Fashion Gold Embellishments, adding them as centres, as well as scattering around to finish.
Try combing the banner with other coordinating cardstock and ink for different looks!
