Hi Everyone!

Have you seen the June Small Die of the Month from Spellbinders yet? It’s my fave kit this month and creates a beautiful landscape image which you can add sun, cacti and rays too! I. created a landscape at dusk with the help of a little ink blending.

To create my card, I first die cut the mountains and landscape foreground four times using different colors of sea green and blue cardstock, as well as some matte silver for the river! I also die cut yellow card for my sun using the circle die.

I set the pieces aside then trimmed a panel of pale blue cardstock to A2 for my background. For my sunset I used Distress Oxide inks – as these are opaque they blend perfectly on colored cardstock, and add that hazy look reminiscent of a sun dipping below the hills. I used Mustard Seed, Abandoned Coral and Ripe Persimmon. I also added a few touches onto the ‘sun’ circle too. At the darker area, I splattered some Gold Metallic ink spray to look the stars just starting to peep out as it gets dark.

To create my card, I pieced all of the landscape die cuts with foam tape, starting at the bottom of my blue card panel and working up towards the ink blending. I then popped the sun into the centre and mounted it onto a white notecard. To finish, I stamped this awesome sentiment from the June Clear Stamp of the Month. Isn’t it fun?!
