Hi Everyone!

Are you excited?? It’s time for a new Gina K Designs release wooop!! There are lots of gorgeous stamp designs in this release, and I am excited to be guest designing to show you one of those sets today! It’s called May Flowers and has some beautiful blooms just begging to be colored!

I recently got some Karin Brushmarkers and I’ve only used them in a couple of times so I broke them out for the occasion! I first heat embossed the floral image from May Flowers onto Arches Cold Press cardstock twice with embossing ink using my MISTI. I then heat embossed the flowers with WOW! Rose Glintz embossing powder – one of my favorite none-neutral embossing powders to watercolor in.

The Karin Brushmarkers are super simple to use – simply add a little color direct to the cardstock, and then pull out with a waterbrush. I used a pale pink for the petals, then overlaid with a slightly deeper pinky-red. For the leaves I used a sage green, then overlaid with a greeny-brown. The background is a dark blue, with more water added to help it blend. I also added lots of white paint splatters for that speckled look with a wet paintbrush.

I trimmed the panel down to just under 4 x 5.25″ and mounted onto a white notecard with craft foam. The sentiment is also from the set, heat embossed in white onto black cardstock and mounted on the card with foam tape. I finished with a few clear sequins!

There is a lot more inspiration to be found from the other designers tonight and throughout. the month!
