Have you seen the new Make-A-Scene collection by Becca Feeken for Spellbinders? These are amazing interactive cards. They feature a little scene inside a window that the recipient reveals when they pull the sides. They fold flat and are very three dimensional.
All of the Make-A-Scene collection start with the card base (S6-165). Of course they can also be used to create non interactive cards as well if you don’t have the card base. I wanted to have fun, and so went for the full interactive scene. There is a wonderful instructional video on the Spellbinders YouTube that is really easy to follow how to do this, and once you’ve done it once, you’ll see how easy it is.
I created my card base using textured pink cardstock. I created all pieces with shades of pink and purple at the back, then added a lacy border onto the front for a little interest using the Becca Feeken Picot Petite Rectangles cut from white cardstock.
On each of the three layers I used a variety of textured pale green cardstock, the pink cardstock and purple cardstock. I also used some Spellbinders Silver Mirror cardstock for the main pergola doors, the sentiment and the planter. I added a little interest at the back using some watercolor pattern paper to look like a dusk sky.
To embellish, I added some puffy pink stars in the sky at the back, and then a flower on the front from an older Spellbinders card kit. You’ll see I used the little vine and flower dies to embellish the building – there are so many possibilities for these scenes!
