I have a none-holiday themed card to share today featuring some of the newly released Becca Feeken Sweet Cardlets Collection. I’m featuring Just Bee-Cause and Heart Felt Sentiments which are awesome as they feature shaped sentiment dies to enable a fussy cut sentiment look without all that effort!!
Just Bee-Cause has a wonderful honeycomb glimmer plate large enough to be the focal point of a card. I also thought it would pair well with the Sweet Honeycomb Stencil from an earlier Spellbinders Release. Spellbinders sent me some of their new The Card Shoppe cards and envelopes so I decided to go for a square card, using the coordinating cream square card and envelope for something a little different.
To create my card I first cut a panel of Whip Cream down to 4 inches square and then overlaid the Sweet Honeycomb Stencil blending bright yellow, pale orange and pale hot pink lightly over the top allowing them to blend together. I then foiled the Beeca Feeken honey comb Glimmer Plate over the top using Brass Glimmer foil which is the perfect warm golden sheen for honeycombs don’t you think?
I also foiled the Bee from the set onto Whip Cream and the ‘So Proud of You’ sentiment from the Becca Feeken Heart Felt sentiments set onto Cream cardstock. I die cut them both out with their coordinating die. I used the same yellow, orange, and pink dye inks and blended them over the Bee a little more heavily than the background. The foil resists the ink for a pretty shimmery look. I mounted the been and the sentiment onto the ink blended panel with foam squares, and adhered the panel to the note card with foam tape.
Of course, I couldn’t resist foiling the coordinating envelope with the Just Bee-cause sentiment from the set, using the same Brass Glimmer foil. This works really well – just lift the flap to foil and don’t foil directly over the adhesive part. I also used the brand new Quick Trimmer to trim thin strips of foil to size for the sentiments and makes over foiling much less and less foil wastage.
To finish, I added a few Gold Fashion Embellishments. Just love these little sets – and the new Card Shoppe pre made cards and envelopes make pulling the project together that much quicker!
